Code I005 will set if the Ignition is ON, the ECM Coolant Temperature Sender is greater than or equal to 100°F and sender resistance at the Instrument Cluster was at or above 2k ohms for 5 successive readings in a 2.5 second time period.

TEST EXPLANATIONS

The circled numbers refer to the test procedures in the trouble tree

1. This step checks to see if the open is between the Coolant Temperature Sender and S232 or between S232 and the Instrument Cluster.

2. This step checks to see if the open is in CKT 35 or the Instrument Cluster.
