Temperature Setting Does Not Provide Comfort
DIAGNOSIS
To diagnose the Electronic Climate Control (ECC) System in the shortest time and with the least amount of effort, it is important to know how a properly functioning system will perform. For diagnosis of all ECC functions, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL DIAGNOSIS.
TEMPERATURE SETTING DOES NOT PROVIDE COMFORT
Review ECC operation procedures with customer. If complaint persists, the following areas should be checked and adjusted or repaired when comfort complaints occur:
1. The air-mix valve.
2. The in-car sensor aspirator hose.
Visually check to ensure that the in-car sensor aspirator is drawing passenger compartment air into the in-car sensor housing opening (HI blower mode using tissue paper). If the air is not being drawn past the sensor, check to ensure that the hose is attached at the in-car sensor and the aspirator. Repair the aspirator hose if it happens to be kinked. Inspect for a restricted sensor housing-to-instrument panel opening. Replace the aspirator, if the condition has not been corrected.
