Code I008 will set if the Ignition is in RUN and the serial data link speed is 5 mph or greater than the vehicle speed input for 5 seconds and the Vehicle Speed Input at the Instrument Cluster is HI.

TEST EXPLANATION

The circled numbers refer to the test procedures in the trouble tree.

1. This step checks if there is an open between the Instrument Cluster and splice S217, or if the fault lies below splice S217.

2. This step checks to see if there is an open in the ECM or 389 wire between splice S217 and the ECM or if the Instrument Cluster is at fault.
