Brake Warning Indicator: Description and Operation

The red brake warning lamp illuminates after engine is started to indicate one or all of the following; parking brake is applied, fluid level is low, or accumulator pressure is below 1800 psi. Any of these three conditions can damage brake system or greatly reduce braking action. If the red brake warning lamp is on, check above possible causes. The brake warning lamp can be tested for proper operation when the ignition switch is in the Start position. The indicator should be on in this position.
