Striker

Interlock Assembly:

CAUTION: The striker and plate make the door interlock with the roof rail in a crash. If someone were to remove them. the door couldn't interlock with the roof rail in a crash and might spring open. People inside could be thrown out of the car much more easily with the door open. Be sure you never remove the striker or the plate when you're doing repair work around them.

Remove or Disconnect

1. Scribe location of striker onto vehicle body.
2. Two screws (1) and striker (3).
3. Clean adhesive from mounting location.

Install or Connect

1. Peel protective paper (2) from back of striker (3).
2. Striker (3) with two screws (1).
3. Close door slowly and check for proper alignment.

Tighten
^ Screws (1) to 7 N.m (62 lbs. in.).
