SERVICE PARTS EXCHANGE PROGRAM FOR DELCO-CHASSIS ABS VI BRAKE SYSTEM

MODELS AFFECTED:
1991-92 SKYLARK 1992 REGAL


THE 1991-92 DELCO-CHASSIS ABS VI ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM service parts and kits will be available through a special exchange program. This program will expedite early customer/dealership feedback and minimize the service and diagnostic problems associated with the introduction of new product technologies. This program was effective September 1, 1991.

THE EXCHANGE PROCEDURE

1. The Dealership Technician

A. The Dealership Technician is required to diagnose the ABS VI System using the Service Manual and Tech 1 or T100 (CAMS) tools.

B. The Technician must then contact Delco Technical Assistance at 1-800-523-0203 to verify the diagnosis and establish a TAC case number.

2. Replacement Part(s) Order

A. Upon verification of the order requirements, the Technical Assistance engineer will place the necessary part(s) order directly to GMSPO or an A.C. Delco Authorized Repair Center.

NOTE: If a dealer attempts to order any of the included parts before contacting Technical Assistance, the order will be rejected with a message to contact the appropriate designated Technical Assistance Center telephone number.

B. The ordered part(s) will be shipped to the dealer within 24 hours via GMSPO priority 1 requirements, or A.C. Delco exchange.

3. The two procedures for returning replaced ABS VI parts are as follows:

A. Systems components - excluding Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM).


The replacement parts(s) will be packaged in a heavy gauge returnable box. It will include a self-adhering return label and a short instruction/information sheet.

1. Upon receipt of the replacement part(s), the replaced parts should be returned collect via Airborne Express within three (3) days. Third party billing to:

Delco Chassis Account # 046650768

2. To insure proper and timely core charge crediting, complete the lower half of the instruction sheet provided and include it with the returned part(s).

3. Ship return parts to:

B. Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM)

1. Upon Receipt and installation of the replacement EBCM, promptly return the replaced EBCM to the same A.C. Delco Authorized Repair Center that shipped the replacement EBCM.








2. If the replaced EBCM is not returned in a timely manner along with a completed ACD-1078 claim form to the AC Delco Authorized Repair Center, the dealer will be charged dealer net or greater for the pre-exchanged unit. Additional ACD-1078 claim forms may be obtained from your local zone office.
