Starts, But Stalls

Engine starts but stalls when load is placed on the engine (A/C clutch engaged or transmission shifted into drive or reverse).

POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION

Spark timing Check Spark Controls (EST, ESC)



Idle speed too low Check Idle Air Control (IAC) valve and closed throttle stop screw adjustment. See FUEL SUPPLY AND AIR INDUCTION/ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES/CLOSED THROTTLE STOP SCREW



Unmeasured air entering intake system Check throttle body gasket,
(vacuum leak) intake manifold gasket, injector O-rings etc. for vacuum leaks.



Poor or contaminated fuel Recommend higher grade fuel
