Powertrain Controls - ECM/PCM
Code 67:
Cruise Switch Circuit:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:
CKT 350 is controlled by the ignition switch and protected by a 10 amp fuse. it is used to provide battery voltage to the cruise control switches and brake switch.
Code 67 will set If:
^ CKT 397 is open between cruise engage switch and the PCM.
^ CKT 84 (set/coast switch) is closed for an extended amount of time (switch problem).
^ CKT 87 (resume/accel switch) is closed for an extended amount of time (switch problem).
^ CKT 86 is open to the PCM (no change in the status of the C/C brake switch) after the vehicle makes 5.0 stops from 35 mph (for more than 10.0 seconds) down to 0 mph.
^ Any of the above CKTs are shorted to voltage.
^ One of the above conditions are met.
NOTE: Code 67 does NOT illuminate the "Service Engine Soon" light. A short to ground in CKTs 397, 84 or 87 will cause a failure of the cruise engagement switch. It will not blow the 10 amp 350 fuse when the cruise "ON/OFF" switch is turned "ON."
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS:
An intermittent may be caused by a poor connection, rubbed through wire insulation, or a wire broken inside the insulation.
Check:
^ Inspect harness connectors for backed out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals, poor terminal to wire connection, and damaged harness.
