CONDITION:
Some customers may comment about instrument panel cover glaring in the windshield.
CORRECTION:
Refinish instrument panel cover using the established field repair procedures as described in Service Manual, General Body Service Section.
PROCEDURE:
1. After removing the instrument panel cover, remove all grilles, outlets, etc. from the cover.
2. Refinish the instrument panel cover with the appropriate vinyl color paint.
Note:
Vinyl interior colors are designed for soft trim parts such as instrument panel covers, door trim assemblies and head restraint covers. Instrument panel covers require a nonglare final top coat.
The procedures for complete refinish/or nonglare final top coat may differ from one manufacturer's material to another. Be sure to read and follow manufacturer's directions.
3. Reinstall grilles, outlets, etc. on the cover, and cover onto the instrument panel.
