Door Locks: Description and Operation

POWER DOOR LOCKS AND TAILGATE LOCK

Battery voltage from Circuit Breaker A is applied at all times to the Power Door Lock Relay through CKT 660. Battery voltage from Fuse 1 is applied at all times to the Door Lock Switches through CKT 40. The Power Door Lock Relay is permanently grounded at G200.
When either Door Lock Switch is pushed to the "LOCK" position, battery voltage is applied to the Power Door Lock Relay through CKT 195. This energizes the relay, which then applies battery voltage from Circuit Breaker A to the Door Lock Motors and the Tailgate Lock Motor through CKT 295. Ground is provided to the Door Lock Motors and the Tailgate Lock Motor through CKT 294 and the Power Door Lock Relay. The Door Lock Motors will lock the tailgate and doors.
When either Door Lock Switch is pushed to the "UNLOCK" position, battery voltage is applied to the Power Door Lock Relay through CKT 194. This energizes the relay, which then applies battery voltage from Circuit Breaker A to the Door Lock Motors and the Tailgate Lock Motor through CKT 294. Ground is provided to the Door Lock Motors and the Tailgate Lock Motor through CKT 295 and the Power Door Lock Relay. The Door Lock Motors will rotate in the opposite direction and unlock the tailgate and doors.

TAILGATE LOCK WITHOUT POWER DOOR LOCKS

Battery voltage from Circuit Breaker A is applied at all times to the Tailgate Lock Relay through CKT 660. Battery voltage from Fuse 1 is applied at all times to the Rear Glass Release/Tailgate Lock Switch through CKT 40. The Tailgate Lock Relay is permanently grounded at G200.
When the Rear Glass Release/Tailgate Lock Switch is pushed to the "LOCK" position, battery voltage is applied to the Tailgate Lock Relay through CKT 195. This energizes the relay, which then applies battery voltage from Circuit Breaker A to the Tailgate Lock Motor through CKT 295. Ground is provided to the Tailgate Lock Motor through CKT 294 and the Tailgate Lock Relay. The Tailgate Lock Motor will lock the tailgate.
When the Rear Glass Release/Tailgate Lock Switch is pushed to the "UNLOCK" position, battery voltage is applied to the Tailgate Lock Relay through CKT 194. This energizes the relay, which then applies battery voltage from Circuit Breaker A to the Tailgate Lock Motor through CKT 294. Ground is provided to the Tailgate Lock Motor through CKT 295 and the Tailgate Lock Relay. The Tailgate Lock Motor will rotate in the opposite direction and unlock the tailgate.
