Troubleshooting Hints
1. If Tech 1 display "Pin D Always Low" for approximately 3 seconds, then starts displaying a rapidly changing Duty Cycle of approximately 25 to 80%, check for an open in CKT 1295 or a poor connection at terminal "B2" of the Power Steering Control Module Connector. To verify this condition, cycle Ignition "OFF" then "ON" with Signal Generator J 38522 plugged in and set to 60 Hz. Refer to SYSTEM CHECK for connection of Signal Generator.2. A short to B+ on CKT 1295 will not drive actuator pintle out to cause a decrease in assist. The fault is detected by the Power Steering Control Module which disables CKT 1294, and the Tech 1 will read "No Duty Cycle Present".
