CONDITION:
Some owners may comment on sagging and in severe instances, dripping of the wax coating applied to the frame assembly for corrosion protection. This condition is most apt to appear in high temperature areas, such as near the catalytic converter or exhaust crossover pipe assembly.
CAUSE:
Material composition of coating unable to withstand elevated temperatures noted in certain areas of the vehicle's underbody.
CORRECTION:
Clean affected area with GM Tar and Road Oil Remover, P/N 1050172 (U.S.), P/N 992856 (Canada) or equivalent, insuring all dirt and wax coating is removed. Apply GM Anti-Corrosion Compound, P/N 12345489 (U.S.), P/N 10952414 (Canada) or equivalent, insuring affected area has been completely recoated.
