Radio
CIRCUIT OPERATIONThe Radio receives battery power at all times from the CTSY Fuse. The Radio also receives power from the RADIO Fuse with the Ignition Switch in RUN or ACCY. A ground path is provided to the Radio at all times. The radio drives the four speakers through four pairs of speaker outputs. If the radio is equipped with a cassette player or compact disc player, an audio frequency equalizer is included with the radio. These components are an integral part of the radio and receive power as mentioned above.
The radio employs a Vacuum Fluorescent (VF) display(s) to provide time and sound system information. With radio turned on, the VF display(s) lights to a fixed brightness. When the light switch is in HEAD or PARK, the radio receives battery voltage at the Lights On Input and a variable voltage illumination signal at the Illumination Input. When the Radio gets these inputs, the VF displays dim to the present Dimmer Switch setting and the radio face and buttons are illuminated.
The Remote Radio System consists of several components. They include the following:
^ Radio/Clock
^ Turn-Hazard Switch Assembly
^ Cancel Cam Assembly
^ Switch and Electronics Module (Steering Wheel Control Head)
^ Translator Module
