Fuel Tank Assembly

Fuel Tank Insulators:

Fuel Tank Replacement:

Remove or Disconnect
1. Relieve fuel system pressure
2. Drain fuel tank
3. Raise vehicle on hoist
4. Remove filler pipe and clamp
5. Remove fuel tank vent pipe and clamp at fuel tank
6. Disconnect electrical connector
7. Disconnect vapor connecting hose and clamp from fuel tank
8. Disconnect quick connect fittings
9. With aid from an assistant, support fuel tank and remove front fuel tank retaining strap attaching bolts, rear fuel tank strap attaching nuts and bolts, both fuel tank retaining straps and fuel tank.

Install or Connect
1. With aid from an assistant, position and support fuel tank. Install fuel tank retaining straps, attaching bolts and nuts.
Torque Value:
Front strap nuts 12 N-m (9 lb.ft.)
Rear strap bolts 34 N-m (25 lb.ft.)
2. Connect quick connect fittings
3. Connect vapor connecting hose and clamp
4. Connect electrical connector
5. Connect fuel tank vent pipe and clamp
6. Install filler pipe and clamp
7. Lower vehicle
8. Add fuel and install fuel filler cap
9. Connect negative battery cable
