Installation

Install or Connect
1. Gasket to cylinder block.
2. Apply thread locker GM p/n 1052080 or equivalent to bolt threads.
3. Front cover and bolts.

Tighten
^ Bolt to 30 Nm (22 lb. ft.).

4. Tensioner bracket and bolts.

Tighten
^ Bolts to 45 Nm (33 lb. ft.).

5. Generator to tensioner bracket.
6. Ground wires and nut to tensioner bracket.
7. Power steering pump and bolts.

Tighten
^ Bolts to 29 Nm (21 lb. ft.).

8. Power steering pump brace bolt.
9. Heater pipe and nut.
10. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
11. Oil pan to engine block bolts.

Tighten
^ Bolts to 16 Nm (12 lb. ft.).

12. Oil pan to front cover bolts.

Tighten
^ Bolts to 14 Nm (124 lb. in.).

13. Electrical connections to crankshaft sensor and oil pressure sensor.
14. Crankshaft sensor shield.
15. Crankshaft balancer. Refer to "Crankshaft Balancer."
16. Lower radiator hose to front cover.
17. Coolant bypass hoses.
18. Loosely install coolant pump pulley.
19. Serpentine belt. Refer to "Serpentine Drive Belt."
20. Coolant pump pulley bolts.
21. Fill with coolant.
22. Fill with engine oil.
