Forced Entry
When the theft deterrent system is armed, it automatically sounds the horns and flashes the exterior lamps when one of the forced entry switches on the door lock cylinders or luggage compartment lock is closed. This is caused by tampering or when one of the doors is opened. The lamps and horns pulse ON and OFF every second for 2 to 4 minutes after the system has been triggered.
The system is armed by locking a front door with at least one door open while the ignition is in the OFF position. The arming sequence is completed when all doors are closed and the SECURITY indicator turns off (approximately 30 seconds). The system is disarmed by unlocking a door with the key or pressing the remote keyless entry transmitter UNLOCK button, which closes a grounding switch to the RAC module in the front door lock.
