Headlamp: Description and Operation
The headlamps are controlled by the head/park lamp switch via the solid state lamp control module. When the headlamps switch is depressed, the headlamps input to the lamp control module is grounded. The lamp control module then applies power to the head-lamps and headlamps on LED. The module also receives inputs from:^ Twilight sentinel/daytime running lamps photocell
^ Remote accessory control (RAC) module
^ Park/neutral position switch
^ Dim/twilight sentinel control
Optional features include:
^ Twilight sentinel
^ Daytime running lamps
Twilight sentinel photocell turns exterior lamps on or off in response to ambient light levels. It also provides a timed lamps on period after the ignition switch is turned to OFF.
When daytime running lamps are activated, power is applied to LO beam headlamps through the daytime running lamps resistor whenever ignition switch is at RUN and gear selector lever is not at PARK.
