Ignition Switch
IGNITION & DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative (-) battery cable.
2. Washer head screw (78).
3. Hex nut (79).
- Ground wire with ring terminal from stud (81).
4. Dimmer switch assembly (105) from rod (77).
5. Dimmer & ignition switch mounting stud (81).
6. Ignition switch assembly (80) from ignition switch actuator assembly (76).
7. Wire harness strap (82).
8. Turn signal switch assembly (12) connector from bulkhead connector.
9. Pivot & pulse switch assembly (23) connector from bulkhead connector.
10. Axial positive assurance connector (93). Connector from interlock solenoid asm (103).
INSTALL OR CONNECT
NOTICE: Ensure all fasteners are securely seated before applying needed torque. Failure to do so may result in component damage or malfunctioning of steering column.
1. Turn signal switch assembly (12) connector to bulkhead connector.
- Seat connector body until securely locked in.
2. Pivot & pulse switch assembly (23) connector to bulkhead connector.
- Seat connector body until securely locked in.
3. Wire harness strap (82).
4. Connector to interlock solenoid assembly (103). Axial positive assurance connector (93).
NOTICE: Install ignition switch (80) to jacket (72) with switch in "OFF-LOCK" position. New ignition switch will he pinned in "OFF-LOCK" position. Remove plastic pin after switch is assembled to column. Failure to do so may cause switch damage.
ADJUST
Ignition switch assembly (80).
a. Move switch slider to extreme right position.
b. Move switch slider one detent to left "OFF-LOCK" position.
5. Ignition switch assembly (80) and stud (81).
TIGHTEN
Stud (81) to 4.0 Nm (35 lb.in.).
6. Dimmer switch assembly (105).
- Ground wire with ring teminal from turn signal switch wire harness to stud (81).
7. Hex nut (79) and washer head screw (78).
- Tighten finger tight.
ADJUST
Dimmer switch (105).
a. Place 3/32-inch drill bit in hole on switch to limit travel.
b. Position switch on column and push against dimmer switch rod (77) to remove all lash.
c. Remove drill bit.
TIGHTEN
Nut (79) and screw (78) to 4.0 Nm (35 lb. in.).
8. Negative (-) battery cable.
