Accessing and Reading Diagnostic Trouble Codes

To accurately diagnose the computer command ride (CCR) system, the CCR Diagnostic System Check must be performed before proceeding with any other testing. The CCR Diagnostic System Check outlines a code reading method that does not require disassembly. Another diagnostic trouble code reading method requires grounding the data link connector DLC terminal C or the CCR controller's F2 terminal and observing the fault indicator on the CCR controller. No matter which method is chosen. the sequence starts with a second lamp off period. Then, code 12 is displayed three times to mark the beginning of the sequence. Next, each stored diagnostic trouble code is blinked out in ascending order. Each diagnostic trouble code is displayed three times before proceeding to the next diagnostic trouble code. If the ground remains applied to the data link connector DLC or the CCR controller, the entire error code sequence repeats and starts by displaying code 12 three times. if at any time the ground is removed, the sequence is aborted.
