Speaker, Door Mounted - Buzz or Rattle Noise

DOOR MOUNTED SPEAKER BUZZ (NEW PART - NEW PROCEDURE)
MODELS AFFECTED:
1992-93 PARK AVENUE/ULTRA AND LESABRE MODELS
CONDITION:
Some 1992-93 Park Avenue/Ultra or LeSabre models with the six speaker sound system may make a buzzing or rattling noise coming from the speaker(s) mounted in the lower front doors. This noise will most likely occur on AM talk shows or at higher levels of bass when listening to music.
CORRECTION:
Correct this condition as follows:
1. Remove the door trim pad using the applicable Service Manual procedure.
2. Remove the speaker/housing assembly.
3. Apply the foam sound deadener part number 12536298 to the pocket in the door water deflector directly behind where the speaker/housing assembly mounts. (See illustration).
4. Reinstall the speaker/housing assembly and assure the noise is corrected.
5. Reinstall the door trim pad.
6. Duplicate this procedure on the other front door to assure proper speaker balance.
