At pre-programmed points In time, at key-on and at 11 km/h (7mph) for each ignition cycle, the electronic brake and traction control module (EBCM/EBTCM) performs a series of self-tests, which check all systems, electronic and hydraulic, for any problems. When a problem exists, the EBCM/EBTCM sets a diagnostic trouble code and/or illuminates an indicator lamp.
