General Service Precautions

The following general precautions should be observed when servicing and diagnosing the antilock brake system, traction control system and/or other vehicle systems. Failure to observe these precautions may result in antilock brake system damage. Refer to "Cautions and Notices".

^ Disconnect the EBCM/EBTCM and valve block connectors before performing any vehicle welding work using an electric arc welder.

^ Never connect or disconnect the EBCM/EBTCM and valve block connectors with the Ignition switch in the RUN position.

^ Do not disassemble any component designated as nonserviceable. Some antilock brake system components are not serviced separately and must be replaced as an assembly.
