SUBJECT:
TRANSMISSION SELECTOR WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK

MODELS AFFECTED:
CERTAIN 1993 LESABRES AND PARK AVENUES

General Motors has determined, that certain 1993 Buick LeSabre and Park Avenue model vehicles may exhibit a condition where the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) solenoid becomes stuck in the engaged position and does not allow the transmission to shift out of park (on vehicles with column mounted shift lever).

To prevent this condition from occurring, dealers will inspect the BTSI solenoid for suspect build date codes, and if required, replace the BTSI solenoid.
