FRONT SEAT BACK MANUAL RECLINER MECHANISM

MODELS AFFECTED:
CERTAIN 1993 BUICK REGAL COUPE AND SEDAN

This bulletin revises Campaign 93-C-4 dated February, 1993, to add 114 additional vehicles to the Vehicles Involved section. These vehicles are in addition to the 22 vehicles previously added in supplement 93-C-4A.

Also an inspection procedure has been added to the Service Procedure and an inspection labor operation has been added to the Warranty Claim Information section.

All three revised sections are printed below. New Information is shown in bold print. Parts preship program will not be utilized for the additional 114 vehicles. Parts should be ordered from GMSPO as indicated in the Parts Information section of Bulletin 93-C-4.

Involved are certain 1993 Regal Coupes and Sedans built within the breakpoints:





Additionally, the specific 1993 Regal Coupes and Sedans outside of the breakpoints indicated above are also involved.

IMPORTANT:
Parts preship program will not be utilized for the additional 22 vehicles. Parts should be ordered from GMSPO as indicated in the Parts Information section.

Computer listings for the added 114 units will be furnished to involved dealers with this supplement.

SERVICE PROCEDURE:

IMPORTANT:
Perform this procedure for both front seats.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE (added)

1. Remove front seat trim finish panel (see 1993 Buick Regal Service Manual, Volume II, Section 10, page 10-10-10 and 11.





2. Visually inspect recliner assembly (see illustration).

^ If recliner is an incremental manual recliner, it must be replaced. Proceed to Step 3.

^ If recliner is an infinite manual recliner, no replacement is required. Proceed to Step S.

REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE

3. Remove old manual seat back recliner mechanism following procedure in 1993 Buick Regal Service Manual Volume II, Section 10, page 10-10-15.

4. Install new manual seat back recliner mechanism following procedure in 1993 Buick Regal Service Manual Volume II, Section 10, page 10-10-15.

5. Install Campaign Identification label.
