Water Pump: Service and Repair

Coolant Recovery Reservoir:

Coolant Pump Mounting:

REMOVAL
1. Drain coolant, partially.
2. Remove coolant recovery reservoir and lay aside.
3. Remove serpentine belt guard, bolts and nuts.
4. Loosen coolant pump pulley bolts.
5. Remove serpentine belt.
6. Remove coolant pump pulley bolts and pulley.
7. Remove coolant pump attaching bolts.
8. Remove coolant pump and gasket then clean coolant pump mating surfaces.

INSTALLATION
1. Install gasket and coolant pump.
2. Install attaching bolts and torque to 10 Nm (89 lb. in.)
3. Install coolant pump pulley and LOOSELY install attaching bolts.
4. Install serpentine belt.
5. Torque coolant pump pulley bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb. ft.).
6. Install serpentine belt guard, bolts and nuts.
7. Install coolant recovery reservoir.
8. Refill coolant. Refer to Cooling System / Service and Repair / Draining and Refilling. Service and Repair


NOTE: To properly fill the system requires the use of the air bleed vents.

9. Inspect for leaks.
