Air Injection Bypass Valve: Service and Repair
Electric Air Control Bypass Valve:
Secondary Air Injections Systems Service:
Secondary Air Injection Components:
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Raise vehicle.
3. Nut (2) from air pump assembly adapter.
4. Lower secondary air injection system hose from check valve. Refer to figure.
5. Vacuum hose from secondary air injection system electric air control bypass valve.
6. Electrical connector from secondary air injection system electric air control bypass valve.
7. Secondary air injection system electric air control bypass valve.
8. Lower hose, silencer, and adaptor from secondary air injection system electric air control bypass valve.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Lower hose and silencer to new secondary air injection system electric air control bypass valve.
2. New gasket and adapter secondary air injection system electric air control bypass valve.
3. Manually start two bolt/screws. Torque adapter bolt/screws to secondary air injection system electric air control bypass valve to 27 Nm (20 lb ft).
4. Secondary air injection system electric air control bypass valve and new gasket to air pump assembly.
5. Manually start two nuts on to air pump assembly studs. Torque two nuts to 35 Nm (26 lb ft).
6. Electrical connector to secondary air injection system electric air control bypass valve.
7. Vacuum hose to secondary air injection system electric air control bypass valve.
8. Lower secondary air injection system hose to check valve.
9. Lower vehicle.
10. Negative battery cable.
11. Check system operation. Refer to CHART C-6.
