Rear Suspension Strut

1. Remove upper strut mount cover from inside rear compartment, then raise and support vehicle and remove tire and wheel assembly.
2. Place scribe marks on strut and knuckle to ensure installation in same position.
3. Remove jack pad.
4. Install rear leaf spring compressor tool No. J-35778 or equivalent onto transverse spring assembly and tighten to hold spring pressure. Do not remove spring or retention plates.
5. Remove auxiliary spring as previously outlined.
6. Remove brake hose bracket at strut.
7. Remove upper strut attaching bolts at body and allow assembly to drop down.
8. Remove stabilizer shaft bracket by removing strut to knuckle attaching nuts.
9. Remove strut to knuckle attaching bolts, then the strut assembly.
10. Reverse procedure to install, torquing upper strut attaching bolts to specifications.
