HYDRAMATIC 4T60-E TRANSAXLE (M13)

This vehicle comes equipped with the 4T60-E, electronically controlled 4-speed automatic transaxle W/lock-up torque converter ([1][2]Torque Converter Clutch - TCC.)

The HYDRAMATIC 4T60-E transmission is electronically controlled by the ECM/PCM. Transmission shifts are carried out by electro-hydraulic solenoids as requested by the PCM. Inputs to the ECM/PCM determine the shift pattern and Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) operation.

Four solenoids in the transaxle respond to the ECM/PCM signals. Two solenoids, SHIFT A and SHIFT B, control shifts. The TCC APPLY and TCC Pulse Width Modulation (TCC MOD or PWM MOD) solenoids control the apply and release of the TCC.
