Chart 4 No Blower Operation
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:
Based on a signal sent from the BCM, the programmer sends a variable voltage to the power module which is then amplified and sent to the blower motor. The programmer monitors the blower voltage so that the signal can be adjusted to achieve the desired blower motor speed.
TEST DESCRIPTION:
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. Checks to see if fault is due to blower signal circuit to programmer or circuits used for blower control.
2. Checks to see fault in blower control is due to short in CKT 754 including programmer or rest of control circuits.
3. Checks to see if fault in blower control is due to open in CKT 754 or rest of control circuits.
4. Checks to see if fault in blower control is due to open in blower motor ground, including blower motor or rest of control circuits.
5. Checks to see if fault in blower control is due to open in power module feed or short in blower motor feed, including poor terminal contact and excessive current draw from blower motor.
6. Checks to see if fault in blower signal to due to short in CKT 760, programmer or BCM.
