Input Test: BI01 (Courtesy Light Switch)

Courtesy Light Switch Test.:






PROPER BI01 DIAGNOSTIC DISPLAYS

- HI is displayed with Courtesy Light Switch off.

- LO is displayed with Courtesy Light Switch on.


TESTS FOR IMPROPER DISPLAYS

BI01 displays HI with Courtesy Light Switch on.


1. Remove Left Switch Assembly and connect a fused jumper between connector C2 terminals C3 and C4.
^ If display reads HI, go to step 2.
^ If display reads LO, replace Left Switch Assembly if terminal contact is OK.

2. Connect Connector C2 terminal C3 of the Left Switch Assembly connector to ground with a fused jumper.
^ If display reads HI, go to step 3.
^ If display reads LO, check/repair BLK/PNK (736) wire for an open.

3. Backprobe Body Computer Module (BCM) terminal 1D15 to ground with a fused jumper.
^ If display reads LO, check/repair BRN/WHT (685) wire for an open.
^ If display reads HI, check Body Computer Module (BCM) terminal 1D15 for a good connection. If connection is good, replace Body Computer Module (BCM).

BI01 displays LO with Courtesy Light Switch off.

1. Disconnect the Left Switch Assembly.
^ If display reads LO, go to step 2.
^ If display reads HI, replace Left Switch Assembly.

2. Disconnect Body Computer Module (BCM) connector 2. Connect a self-powered test lamp to Body Computer Module Connector terminal 1D15.
^ If test lamp lights, check/repair BRN/WHT (685) wire for short to ground.
^ If test lamp does not light, check Body Computer Module terminal 1D15. If terminal 1D15 is good, replace Body Computer Module (BCM).
