Input Test: BI05 (Door Jamb Switch)
Door Jamb Switch Wiring.:
PROPER BI05 DIAGNOSTIC DISPLAYS
- HI is displayed with both doors completely closed.
- LO is displayed with either door or both doors open.
TESTS FOR IMPROPER DISPLAYS
BI05 displays HI with one or both doors open.
1. Open each door one at a time and observe Body Computer Module (BCM) display.
^ If display reads HI with both doors open, go to step 2.
^ If display reads HI, with only one door open, go to step 3.
2. Backprobe Body Computer Module (BCM) terminal 1C16 to ground with a fused jumper.
^ If display reads LO, check/repair WHT (156) wire for an open between Body Computer Module (BCM) and splice 5307.
^ If display reads HI, check Body Computer Module (BCM) terminal 1C16 for good terminal contact. If terminal contact is good, replace Body Computer Module (BCM).
3. Disconnect the suspect Door Jamb Switch. Connect a fused jumper between terminal C of the Door Jamb Switch connector harness half and ground.
^ If display reads LO, go to step 4.
^ If display reads HI, check/repair WHT (156) wire for an open between splice 5307 and Door Jamb Switch.
4. Connect a fused jumper between terminals C and B at the harness half, of the suspect Door Jamb Switch connector.
^ If display reads HI, check/repair BLK/WHT (803) wire between splice S323 and Door Jamb Switch.
^ If display reads LO, replace suspect Door Jamb Switch.
BI05 displays LO with both doors completely closed.
1. Check for a shorted Door Jamb Switch.
^ If the Door Jamb Switches are OK, go to step 2.
^ If a Door Jamb Switch is shorted, replace the suspect switch and verify proper operation.
2. Disconnect Body Computer Module (BCM) connector 1 and check for continuity to ground at terminal 1C16 with both doors closed.
^ If there is continuity to ground, repair the WHT (156) wire for a short to ground.
^ If there is not continuity to ground, replace the Body Computer Module (BCM).
