PROPER BI16 DIAGNOSTIC DISPLAYS

- HI is displayed with Ignition Switch in RUN.

- LO is displayed with Ignition Switch in LOCK, OFF or ACCY and key in ignition (cannot be seen because diagnostics only work with Ignition Switch in RUN).

TESTS FOR IMPROPER DISPLAYS

BI16 displays LO with Ignition Switch in RUN.

1. Remove and disconnect row A from connector C202.
^ If display reads LO, go to step 2.
^ If display reads HI, replace Ignition Key Warning Switch.

2. Disconnect Body Computer Module (BCM) connector 3. Connect a voltmeter between a battery source and the BCM connector terminal 3D15.
^ If battery voltage is present, check/repair LT GRN (80) wire for a short to ground.
^ If battery voltage is not present, check Body Computer Module terminal contact 3D15 for a good clean connection. If terminal contact 3D15 is good and clean, replace Body Computer Module (BCM).

If Ignition Key Warning Chime does not operate, do the following tests. (Door Jamb input is OK).

1. Connect terminals A13 and A14 of connector C202 together with a fused jumper. Leave connector C202 connected.
^ If display reads HI, go to step 2.
^ If display reads LO, replace Ignition Key Warning Switch if terminal contact is good.

2. Connect A13 of connector C202 to ground with a fused jumper.
^ If display reads HI, go to step 3.
^ If display reads LO, repair BLK/WHT (803) wire for an open.

3. Backprobe Body Computer Module (BCM) terminal 3D15 with a fused jumper to ground.
^ If display reads LO, check/repair LT GRN (80) wire for an open.
^ If display reads HI, check Body Computer Module (BCM) terminal 3D15 for good terminal contact. If contact is good, replace Body Computer Module (BCM).
