SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART) is composed of a serial data line leading from the ECM to the control assembly microprocessor. Data is sent and received by both the microprocessor and the ECM. DTC 10 indicates that the microprocessor perceives a fault in the serial data it is receiving. Check for a short or an open in the UART data line.
