Remote Control Door Lock Transmitter Assembly (Typical):

TRANSMITTER ASSEMBLY

The transmitter assembly will transmit a radio signal to the receiver assembly, which will control functions of the receiver assembly. The range is approximately 10 m (33 feet).

RECEIVER ASSEMBLY

The remote control door lock receiver assembly is battery fed and is always monitoring the transmitter signal. When the correct transmitter signal is received to lock the front and rear side doors, a transistor driver will energize the correct lock. control relay coil. The receiver assembly will also control which lock control relays will be energized to unlock the front and rear side doors, or release the rear compartment lid assembly or end gate window assembly.

Automatic Door Lock Feature

The automatic door lock feature is controlled through the receiver assembly.

With the ignition switch in the "ON" position, moving the automatic transmission control lever assembly out of the "PARK" position, engages the receiver assembly causing the door assemblies to lock.

To unlock the front and rear side doors, return the automatic transmission control lever assembly to the "PARK" position.

If a door is opened after the front and rear side doors have locked, the door will relock once it is closed, only if the transmission control lever assembly is out of "PARK," the ignition switch is "ON" and the brake pedal assembly is pressed.

The automatic door lock feature may be disabled if desired. In order to disable the feature, reprogram one or both transmitter assemblies. Repeat the following button sequence three times after the last transmitter assembly has been programmed, but before the program connector is disconnected:

A. door lock
B. door unlock
C. rear compartment lid unlock

The door locks and rear compartment lid motor will cycle three times indicating that the automatic door lock feature has been disabled.

To reinstate the automatic door lock feature, reprogram normally.

If the automatic door lock feature fails to operate, refer to Testing and Inspection.
