Owner Letter

Dear 1993 Buick Roadmaster Sedan Owner:

CONDITION

General Motors has determined that certain 1993 Roadmaster Sedans were built with engine oil dipstick longer than required. This condition would cause a properly filled engine to indicate an overfilled reading on the dipstick. Draining the oil to correct this condition would result in the engine oil being approximately one (1) quart low.

WHAT WE WILL Do

To correct the above condition, a new dipstick is being mailed to you (in a separate package). You may install the dipstick or ask your dealer to do the service. If you choose to have the dealer install the dipstick, take this letter and the dipstick provided with you to the dealership. If additional engine oil is needed after the new dipstick is installed, you may obtain the oil from your dealer at no charge.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO

Please install the dipstick once received (see instructions provided with this letter). After you install the dipstick, or if you have sold or traded your vehicle, please let us know by completing the postage paid owner reply card enclosed and return it to us. As mentioned previously, you also have the option of taking your vehicle to your Buick dealer for installation. If you decide to have the dipstick installed by the dealer or require the dealer to add engine oil, please ask your dealer if you wish to know how much time will be needed to schedule, process and repair your vehicle.

If you should encounter any problem in receiving the dipstick, please call your local Buick dealer. When calling your Buick dealer, provide your complete name, complete address and vehicle identification number (as printed on the owner reply card). Your dealer will schedule an appointment to have the campaign performed.

We are sorry to cause you this inconvenience; however, we have taken this action in the interest of your continued satisfaction with our products.
