PRNDL Display

The Electronic PRNDL Display feature indicates the transaxle gear selector position to the driver by using the Transaxle Position Switch. Battery voltage is supplied to the Instrument Cluster and to the Transaxle Position Switch with the Ignition Switch in "OFF" and in "RUN."

The Instrument Cluster has four transaxle position inputs which are either switched to battery or left open by the Transaxle Position Switch, depending on the transaxle position selected. The Instrument Cluster decodes these inputs and lights the corresponding PRNDL Indicator.

The Instrument Cluster has a "Park/Neutral" Output that grounds the ECM and Multi-function Alarm Module with the transaxle in "P" or "N." This output is used for engine idle control and the Automatic Door Lock feature respectively.
