HARD TO REACH FRONT PASSENGER BUCKLE SIDE SEAT BELT (INSTALL NEW SEAT BELT RETAINER BRACKET)
MODELS AFFECTED:
1993 SKYLARK COUPES BEFORE VIN BREAKPOINT - PC252524
CONDITION:
Some owners of 1993 Skylark coupes may comment on difficulty in reaching the front passenger buckle side seat belt.
CAUSE:
Front passenger buckle side seat belt becomes lodged behind the EZ entry seat when the seat is cycled.
CORRECTION:
Install a new seat belt retainer bracket:
1. Remove passenger seat according to procedure in Section 10-10 of 1993 Skylark Service Manual.
2. Locate hole on inboard side of seat cushion frame.
3. Pierce trim over hole and install bolt (1) P/N 17902724.
4. Remove seatback inboard pivot bolt (4) and bushing (3).
5. Insert bolt (4) and bushing (3) through seat belt retainer bracket (2) P/N 22576210.
6. Reinstall bolt (4) through seatback inboard pivot support.
7. Reinstall seat.
8. Position buckle side seat belt between bracket (2) and seat cushion and snap bracket onto bolt (1).
