Two Mode Systems
Any system error will cause both the driver select switch LEDs to be illuminated. The error display will exist as long as the diagnostic trouble code is active. If the fault corrects itself, the error display will no longer be illuminated, but the diagnostic trouble code will be stored in the controller memory. If the displays are not indicating an error condition, one or the other will be on to follow the driver select switch position, with the following exception. When the driver select switch is in the Normal position and the system is in the firm mode due to accelerometer input, the Firm LED will illuminate to show a shift to the firm mode. The Normal LED then will turn back on when the system returns to the comfort mode.
If a diagnostic trouble code is set, a one second self diagnostic test is performed at three minute intervals and whenever the driver select switch position is changed. Both LEDs will be on during this test and will go out if the diagnostic trouble code is corrected. If the fault still exists, the LEDs will remain on.
