Vacuum Motors
Symbols: Vacuum Motors:
^ Vacuum motors operate like electrical solenoids. When vacuum is applied, the shaft is pulled in. When no vacuum is applied, a spring pushes the shaft out all the way.
^ BI-directional motors can be operated by vacuum in two directions. When there is no vacuum, the motor is in its Center at-rest position.
^ A servo (vacuum) motor is operated by a control valve which applies a variable amount of vacuum to the motor. The higher the vacuum level, the greater the motor arm retraction.
