Air Distribution Chamber
When exiting the blower module, the air passes through the
Evaporator Core. Now cooled and dehydrated, all or a portion of the air passes through the
heater core to establish the desired, driver requested air temperature. The conditioned air must now be distributed throughout the vehicle. This is accomplished through the Air Distribution Chamber. Valves in the Air Distribution Chamber are positioned by vacuum actuators which are controlled by the HVAC Programmer. By varying the position of the valves, the Air Distribution Chamber is able to direct air flow to the floor, rear duct, windshield or the cross car duct.
