How to Use Diagnostic Test Procedures

^ Diagnostic tests are generally tests of a component or of input and output voltages at a connector.

Using Diagnostic Tests
1. Read the "bullet" notes at the top of the table and fulfill all conditions before beginning test.

2. It boxed number (1, 2 , etc.) are used, do the test in the sequence indicated. If no boxed numbers are used, work may be done in any order.
3. "Bullet" notes at the bottom of the test give further information.
4. If directed to replace a component, you will be referred to a replacement procedure.
5. If a test result does not find the fault, return to the Symptom/ Diagnosis Guide.
6. When making voltage or resistance measurements, always measure to ground unless otherwise stated.
