Supercharger: Testing and Inspection
Supercharger:
CAUTION: Do not remove the oil plug when the engine is warm. The engine should be cool to the touch. Approximately 2-3 hours after running. Removing the oil plug at warm engine temperatures can cause hot oil to overflow. This could result in oil loss and possible personal injury.
Remove or Disconnect:
1. Remove wiring harness shield
2. Clean area around the oil fill plug
3. Remove oil plug
Inspect
^ Oil level should be maintained to the bottom of the threads in the inspection hole
^ Do not use petroleum based oil. Use only GM P/N 12345982 synthetic oil or equivalent 5W-30 synthetic oil. Failure to do so may cause supercharger failure.
Install or Connect:
1. Install oil plug, ensure O-ring is in proper position
2. Tighten oil plug to 10 N-m (88 lb.in.)
3. Install wiring harness shield
