Handling Deployed Modules

HANDLING
After an inflator module has been deployed, the air bag surface may contain a small amount of sodium hydroxide dust (a reaction by-product which forms during deployment) combined with a white packing powder (used to ease air bag deployment). The sodium hydroxide dust could be irritating to the skin when left on for an extended time period. Therefore, as with all service procedures, gloves and safety glasses should be worn.

Disposal
Deployed inflator modules may be disposed of through normal refuse channels.
