A/C High Pressure Cut-Out Switch
To prevent excessive compressor head pressures and reduce the chances of refrigerant escape through the pressure relief valve, the system includes an A/C high-pressure cut-out switch. Normally closed, this switch opens when high-side (discharge) pressure reaches 3000 kPa (430 psi ±20 psi) to de-energize the A/C compressor clutch. The switch will then close once pressure drops below 1400 kPa (200 ±50).
