Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

To clear diagnostic trouble codes, connect one end of a jumper to pin 4 of the Data Link Connector (DLC). With the opposite end of the jumper, alternately plug into and remove from pin 3. Do this 3 times. Hold each connection for 1 second, and pause 1 second between connections.

IMPORTANT: Once the Data Link Connector DLC circuit has cleared diagnostic trouble codes, it turns OFF the fault indicator for 1 second, and then turns on the fault indicator for 2 seconds. If the fault indicator does not go out, then the diagnostic trouble codes have not been cleared successfully. Repeat the clearing sequence.
