Wheel Speed Sensors
A
wheel speed sensor is present at each wheel. The sensor consists of a permanent magnet and a stationary pickup coil. It generates a small AC voltage when a toothed sensor ring, mounted on the drive axle (front) or in the hub/bearing assembly (rear), passes the mounted sensor. The
EBCM/EBTCM uses the magnetically induced AC voltage signal, with a frequency proportional to wheel speed, to calculate wheel speed information.
