^ Verify the symptom and then check this guide BEFORE doing any tests which follow the guide.
^ Simple systems might not have a Symptom/Diagnosis guide. In such cases, use the schematic or diagnosing a problem.

Using the Symptom/Diagnosis Guide
1. Find the symptom in the SYMPTOM column.
2. Trace across the symptom row until you come to a dot. if more than one dot is in a row, find the one marked "Do 1st." Be sure to do the diagnosis in the sequence indicated.
3. Trace up the column from the dot to find out what diagnostic action(s) should be taken.
