Pressure Bleeding
NOTE: Use only diaphragm type pressure bleeding equipment. The diaphragm prevents air, moisture and other substances from the entering hydraulic system.1. Ensure master cylinder reservoir is filled with clean DOT 3 brake fluid, then install compact brake bleeder adapter tool No. J 35589, or equivalent, on master cylinder fill orifice.
2. Charge diaphragm type brake bleeding equipment to 20-25 psi, then connect bleeder hose to compact brake bleeder adapter.
3. Open line valve, then raise and support vehicle.
4. Bleed right rear, left rear, right front and, finally, left front wheel brake circuits in order as follows:
a. Remove bleeder valve cap and position suitable box end wrench over bleeder valve, then connect a flexible, transparent tube to valve nipple.
b. Submerge free end of transparent tube in a glass container partially filled with clean DOT 3 brake fluid, then loosen bleeder valve at least 3/4 turn.
c. Allow fluid to flow from bleeder valve until bubbles no longer appear, then torque wheel cylinder bleeder valve to 62 inch lbs. or caliper bleeder valve to 10 ft. lbs.
d. Repeat bleed procedure for remaining wheel circuits, then install bleeder valve caps.
e. Lower vehicle, then remove special tools and ensure master cylinder reservoir is full.
