Fuel Filter: Service and Repair

Fuel Filter:

NOTE: Before replacing a fuel filter it is necessary to relieve fuel system pressure.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire and personal injury when the fuel line is disconnected, cover the fuel line with a shop cloth to collect the fuel, and then place the cloth in an approved container.

Disconnect or Remove:
1. Raise car on hoist
2. Loosen fuel filter bracket attaching bolt
3. Disconnect the quick connect fittings
4. Remove the filter attaching screw and remove filter from vehicle.

Install or Connect:
1. Loosely install the new filter
2. Connect quick connect fittings to fuel filter
3. Tighten fuel filter bracket
Torque Value: 10 N-m (89 lb.in.)
4. Lower vehicle
5. START the engine and inspect for leaks.
