Fig. 45 Instrument Panel Removal:
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove center instrument panel trim plate, radio and heater and A/C control.
3. Remove left instrument panel trim plate, then the instrument panel compartment.
4. Remove screw to brace in left side of instrument panel compartment, then disconnect 26 way body connector.
5. Remove left sound insulator, then the bulkhead.
6. Remove defroster grille, then the steering column filler.
7. Remove screw to left brace, lower instrument panel screws, then the console.
8. Remove steering column upper and lower covers, then disconnect electrical connectors on column.
9. Remove steering column bolts, then lower column and allow to rest on seat.
10. Disconnect electrical connectors to brake switches, then remove remaining screws through defroster duct.
11. Remove instrument panel from vehicle, Figs. 45.
12. Reverse procedure to install.
